CHARLOTTE, NC (October 10, 2007) -- For this weekend's Bank of America 500 at Lowe's Motor Speedway, David Gilliland and Team 38 are joining forces with primary sponsor, M&M'S® Brand Chocolate Candies, as they lend sweet support to the fight against breast cancer.
M&M'S® is offering its consumers the opportunity to go pink during Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October to commemorate Susan G. Komen for the Cure's 25th year in the fight against the deadly disease. The brand will also make a minimum guaranteed contribution of $550,000 in support of Komen for the Cure's promise to save lives and end breast cancer forever.
Gilliland will run a special paint scheme with pink M&M'S® Brand Chocolate Candies and the Susan G. Komen for the Cure logo on his No. 38 Ford at Charlotte. Additionally, from October 11-13 MY M&M'S® will host a computerized kiosk at the Speedway where NASCAR visitors can order the Promise Blend in support of finding the cure.
In addition to the activities scheduled for this weekend's race, M&M'S® Brand Chocolate Candies is offering the following products, merchandise and activities in support of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure throughout the month of October:
* MY M&M'S® will donate 10 percent of the sales of its "Promise Blend" to support the cause. Consumers also can express their emotions and feelings by creating their own personalized messages of support for friends, family and loved ones.

Quoting Michelle Gilliland, wife of M&M'S® Driver David Gilliland--
On M&M'S involvement with Susan G. Komen for the Cure-- "It's an honor to be a part of M&M'S partnership with Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Breast cancer remains a health concern for women around the country. It seems that everyone you talk to either knows someone in their family or circle of friends who has been affected by this disease. Komen for the Cure is a leader in breast cancer research and outreach programs which educate women and men on what we can do to take a stand against this disease.
It's exciting to see David run the M&M'S/Komen for the Cure Ford at Charlotte. It's a car and a cause that I think fans can relate to and truly get behind. As a woman, I'm proud to be able to take part in raising awareness in the racing community on how we can educate ourselves and our friends about this disease."
