JEFF BURTON - No. 99 Roundup Taurus (Qualified 34th) "If that doesn't make the race, I'm happy. That was a good lap. That was a nice and clean lap. I got all I think I could have gotten and I didn't leave a thing out there. That's all I had.

"If that doesn't make the race, I'm happy. That was a good lap. That was a nice and clean lap. I got all I think I could have gotten and I didn't leave a thing out there. That's all I had. The car did exactly what I wanted it to do and even though going out first is gonna hurt us a little bit, I'm happy with that lap."
MATT KENSETH - No. 17 DEWALT Tools Taurus (Qualified 37th)
"It's the same car, we just put our Smirnoff Ice colors on it for this week. That's the encouraging part."
WHAT IS THE KEY TO WIN THIS RACE? "I don't know. I mean, you've just got to do everything right like every other race. It's just a little bit longer. It's a long race. It starts late in the afternoon and the pit crew has to make a lot of pit stops and you've got to race a lot of miles here, so you've got to be there at the end."
HOW MUCH DOES THE POLE PLAY INTO A 600-MILE RACE? "You always want to qualify good. I couldn't obviously run near what Newman runs, but you still want to qualify good and get a spot up front as close as you can. But for a 600-mile race, if you've got a good enough car, you should be able to start anywhere and have time to get to the front."
ELLIOTT SADLER - No. 38 M&M's Taurus (Qualified 4th)
"We've really got a really good race car this weekend. This is my Texas car. We made some changes after practice and the car was good. The Pedigree car, I think, will be good on Sunday. I just love qualifying at this place. It's under the lights. You see all of the camera flashes going off in the stands. You can go after it because there's a lot of grip this time of night, so it's a lot of fun. I was shaking a lot when I got out of the car, but that usually means I got the most out of it. I'm proud of my guys. They made some good changes after practice and went the right way. The motor is tuned up and that felt good, so I'm just ready for a great race on Sunday."
WHAT WILL IT TAKE FOR YOU TO HAVE A GOOD RACE SUNDAY? "We ran really good here last year, we just had some terrible luck. We think we've got a really good setup for this place. I usually run good here. It kind of fits my driving style and we've had some good luck on mile-and-a-halves this year, so just stay out of trouble. Six hundred miles is a long, long time. Being that I'm in the Coke family, I would love to be the Coca-Cola driver in victory lane this weekend."
HOW WAS THE LAP? "It was pretty good. The track has a lot of grip on it right now with the sun going down. It's gonna get even faster and faster and faster. I think you're gonna see the 48 car run one heckuva lap. I'm really happy with that. Right now, we're at the top of the class - the best Ford. Hopefully, we can stay somewhere around the top five or six and if we can do that, it'll be a great starting spot for Sunday."
