KURT BUSCH (No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge Charger) 8th
"I thought it was a good pick up from where we thought the track would be. We were a little bit on the loose side with our Miller Lite Dodge Charger. But from where we've been lately, that was an OK lap and now we have to use Saturday's final practice to dial it in for race day on Sunday. My guys did a great job getting out Miller Lite Dodge ready right off the hauler. We'll tweak on it a bit for practice and try to gain some data for Sunday."
ELLIOTT SADLER (No. 19 Best Buy Dodge Charger) Qualified 9th
"It was OK. We've got some work to do on our Best Buy Dodge Charger. We're just a little bit off from the car that we had here last week. We're going to keep working on it. We've got two more hours to keep working on (the car) for a great 600-mile race on Sunday night. I'll take a top-10 starting spot here at Lowe's. We're just missing a little something right now, but we'll work the bugs out Saturday in practice."
REED SORENSON (No. 41 Target Dodge Charger) Qualified 17th
"It was a decent lap for our Target Dodge. We drew a tough qualifying position (fourth) and there was still just enough sun on the track to make a difference.
There wasn't enough sun to make up three-tenths, but it was a solid lap. We start in the top-20 and it's a long race. We'll keep working on it and try to dial it in during practice Saturday."
SAM HORNISH JR. (No. 77 Mobil 1 Dodge Charger) 20th
"I was glad we didn't put it in the fence. It got a little scary there going into one on the first lap. We weren't really sure. We thought the track was going to tighten up a whole lot more than it did and we had a feeling what it wasn't going to after running the Nationwide car. And we kind of backed up a little bit on some of our changes. Probably should have went some more. I'm real happy with the No. 77 team. Everybody's kind of pitched in and made sure that I had an enjoyable experience so far here and I think we've got a really good car over long runs. Hopefully that will bode well for us for the race."
ROBBY GORDON (No. 7 Jim Beam Dodge Charger) 22nd
"I talked Walter (Giles, crew chief) into freeing the car up a little too much. That was the difference in being 22nd instead of the top 10. I think we've got a good car. Now, we just look forward to the race."
BOBBY LABONTE (No. 43 Honey Nut Cheerios/Trix, Lucky Charms & Friends Dodge Charger) 23rd
"It wasn't too bad. The car didn't feel as good as we were in practice, but not too far off. There was a lot more grip on the track with the sun going down. I must have slowed it down too much in the center of the corner because I thought the car was better than it was."
STERLING MARLIN (No. 40 Wii Fit Dodge Charger) 26th
"We tested this car here two weeks ago and were pleased with the results. We only had two laps of practice today. The car was really, really loose and I spun out in practice. It was still too free in qualifying, but we got in. Now, we have the practice on Saturday to see what we've got."
RYAN NEWMAN (No. 12 Alltel Dodge Charger) 38th
"We changed the wrong things. We changed some things and they weren't right. That's what we got. Hopefully, we'll get a good practice in on Saturday and have a good car to pass these guys back on Sunday. We were an eighth-place car most all practice. We tried to make it faster and better. We missed."
