The new might not be good on the Rick Hendrick front. ''Rick hasn't been to work all week,'' says Jimmy Johnson, manager of Hendrick's stock-car empire. ''And for Rick to miss work like that . . . well, I'm worried.'' Hendrick was diagnosed with leukemia last fall.
Tim Brewer to Land on his feet?
The veteran NASCAR crew chief and team manager may be in line for a job helping Julius Erving and Joe Washington get their new Winston Cup team off the ground, according to sources close to Brewer. Brewer, who split Tuesday with Larry McClure, has been trying to find sponsorship for a Truck team effort.
The Dyno test info released
The Dyno tests at Michigan yielded some very interesting results. Dale Earnhardt's engine beat Jeff Gordon's engine by a good five horsepower throughout the power range, and Earnhardt's Chevy motor was nearly as strong as Bill Elliott's Ford engine. Alan Bestwick May be promoted

NASCAR making some changes Kevin Triplett chief spokesman the last three years, is getting a surprise promotion to the management side of the corporation and will be working operations with NASCAR's Mike Helton. That means NASCAR is looking for a new spokesman, and one man Bill France is looking at is Rick Humphries, the ex-R. J. Reynolds executive now working at Talladega.
