Winston Cup and Busch Series drivers have had only one practice session each due to rain and morning fog at the North Carolina Speedway in Rockingham, North Carolina. Both sessions were prior to qualifying attempts yesterday (Friday).

This morning, early practice for Winston Cup teams was delayed due to morning fog. Once the fog lifted, the teams were preparing for what would now be the "Happy Hour," when the rain came, forcing NASCAR to cancel the two Winston Cup sessions and delaying the Busch Series race schedule to a 1:00 p.m. start.

Johnny Benson, second-place starter for Sunday's Winston Cup race commented about the lack of practice prior to the race, "I don't know how much of an effect not practicing will have. We did have an idea weather was coming yesterday, so we did a race run in practice."

Dodge driver Ryan Newman was glad that the Penske Racing team tested at at 'The Rock' earlier these season. "The one thing I'm glad about is that we tested here for two days. We've got some laps on the track when it was green when we came here and tested, and that's how it'll be Sunday morning if it keeps on raining."

Pole-sitter, Dave Blaney, will lead the Winston Cup drivers to the gree flag for the first time tomorrow. The Jasper Motorsports Ford driver felt the team had a good setup for the race already in hand.

"We feel good about our race setup," stated Blaney. "We're good enough to start and comfortable to start where we're at, so it's probably good for us. I don't know how many guys ran race trim today - 10 or 12 - so we feel good. Either way we feel good."

UPDATE: 3:00 p.m.

NASCAR has rescheduled the Busch Series race for Monday, February 24 at 11:00 a.m. ET.
