Hendrick Motorsports announced Tuesday that sensational Busch star Brian Vickers will replace veteran Joe Nemechek in the No. 25 Chevy Monte Carlo next season.

Vickers, 19, coming off his second victory of the season last weekend at Darlington, will move up with sponsor GMAC Financial. UAW-Delphi, the current sponsor on the No. 25, announced earlier this summer that they would not be returning as a primary sponsor in 2004.

"The opportunity that Rick Hendrick and GMAC have offered me is tremendous," Vickers said. "My goal in coming to Hendrick Motorsports was to be competitive each week and race for championships.

"I'll continue to do that this year with GMAC in the Busch Series and look forward to moving to Cup with them in 2004. This is a dream come true for me."

Nemechek will finish out this season in the No. 25 car.

Additional news item from the Hendrick stable is the signing of the talented young driver, Kyle Busch, to handle the Busch team's No. 5 next season.

Busch, who finished second to Vickers at Darlington, is the younger brother of Winston Cup regular Kurt Busch. He has two top-two finishes in the Busch series and two ARCA wins this year.

"This is a great situation for a young driver like myself," Busch said. "It gives me the opportunity to come into the Busch Series full-time with an established team that can compete week in and week out. I can't thank the Hendrick organization enough for giving me the kind of support I need to be successful."

Busch will make four more Busch series appearances this year before moving to as a full time driver next season. Currently, the No. 5 Chevy is without a primary sponsor for next year.
