Rain washes out action at Texas

Heavy rain storms postponed first-round Busch Pole qualifying for the NASCAR Winston Cup Series Interstate Batteries 500 and washed out second-round qualifying for the NASCAR Busch Series Grand National Division Coca-Cola 300 at Texas Motor Speedway.

If the weather persists and NASCAR Winston Cup Series qualifying is cancelled, the field will be determined by this seasons owner points. That means red-hot Dale Jarrett may lead the field to the green flag on Sunday. Taking some time during the rain delay on Friday, Jarrett talked about his season, the new Texas track and the weather.

Ricky Craven was injured in an accident during Thursdays practice. The Budweiser Chevrolet driver has been upgraded from serious to fair condition, but will be held for further tests at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas.
