Brooklyn, MI--Rain delayed the entire NASCAR on-track schedule Friday afternoon at the Michigan International Speedway. Both the Busch and Winston Cup Series were scheduled to qualify on the two-mile oval, but the skies opened up prior to the Busch Series' first morning practice session. After over four hours of on again off again rain, the sky cleared long enough for track drying efforts to take place.

Shortly before 2 PM, the Busch Series cars hit the pavement under an overcast sky for an hour long practice session. Winston Cup practice will follow at 3:05 PM.

Both series are scheduled to qualify this afternoon, weather permitting. The Busch Series is expected to make their run at the pole at approximately 4:15, while the Cup teams are expected their shot at the top spot around 6 PM.

However, another unexpected delay put a kink into the plans when Mike Skinner's No.4 Kodak Chevy hit the outside turn three wall hard. Skinner's car came to a rest with a slight fire under the rear end, but he climbed out of the car unhurt. As a result, practice was pushed back to a 4:45 start time.
