Notes: Both the NASCAR Nextel Cup and Busch Series will run the same tire codes this weekend . . . this is the first time Goodyear has brought this combination of left- and right-side tires to Phoenix . . . this is one of three tracks at which Nextel Cup teams will run this specific tire set-up this season, with the others being Richmond and New Hamsphire . . . Busch and Truck Series teams will also run this combination at Milwaukee, Pikes Peak, Gateway, Indianapolis (Raceway Park) and Memphis in 2005 . . . as on most NASCAR ovals one mile or less in length, teams will not run inner liners in their tires at Phoenix.

Goodyear Quote -- Mark Keto, Lead Engineer, Stock Car Racing: "The right-side tires we are bringing to Phoenix are unchanged from last year. And, while the left-side compound remains unchanged as well, that side features a new construction for improved performance."
