The sixth novel in the ROLLING THUNDER STOCK CAR RACING SERIES has been published by Tor Books of New York City and is now available in bookstores and from on-line booksellers. FIRST TO THE FLAG continues the saga of Rob Wilder, a hot newcomer to the world of big-time racing, and his mentor, legendary driver Jodell Lee. As with the previous five novels in the series, this book has continuing characters and story line, but any individual book stands on its own and it is not necessary to have read any of the others or to follow the series chronologically in order to enjoy them. The story follows Wilder's success on the Busch Grand National circuit and his first foray into the hyper-competitive world of Winston Cup racing. Along the way, he bumps into...sometimes quite literally...some of the other rising stars in the sport.
Written by Don Keith and Kent Wright, the ROLLING THUNDER books attempt to take a realistic behind-the-scenes look at the fastest growing spectator sport in the world, but the books are suitable for younger readers as well. Several of the volumes have been published in special hardcover editions for schools and libraries and the books are finding their way onto school reading lists and into summer reading programs all over the country. Additionally, the first four books are available as abridged cassette audiobooks from dh Audio.
FIRST TO THE FLAG is a mass market paperback, suggested list price $5.99.
