Notes: All three NASCAR series will compete on the same tire codes this weekend, though the Nextel Cup and Busch Series tires will be branded "Goodyear Eagle" and the Craftsman Truck Series tires will be branded "Goodyear Wrangler" . . . this is the second consecutive race weekend at Homestead at which this combination of left- and right-side tires will be used . . . in addition to Homestead, the only other major NASCAR track at which this combination was used in 2004 was Texas . . . as on all NASCAR ovals greater than one mile in length, teams are required to run inner liners in all four tire positions at Homestead . . . inner liner inflation should be 12-25 psi higher than that of the outer tire.
Goodyear Quote -- Mark Keto, Lead Engineer, Stock Car Tire Development: "Last year, we debuted this tire set-up at Homestead, in what was a preview of the basic construction elements of the 2004 tire line. Teams in all three of NASCAR's major series raced on this set-up earlier this season at Texas, so they now have additional notes to work from. After being repaved prior to last year's race, the track surface at Homestead has now had time to cure a bit more and that, along with the progressive banking, should make for a lot of great racing this weekend."
