Consistency Is The Key To Finishing Strong For Harvick Starting At Phoenix
HARVICK ON PHOENIX: "It's close to home for me so I look forward to going to Phoenix. I've raced quite a bit there and ran really well there in the Truck. We ran really well there in the Busch car. But we got caught up in something and I think I hit the fence. We're looking forward to going out there, having a lot of friends and family that will be there and a race track that I'm really accustomed to -- when you go somewhere that you have a lot of experience you look forward to going back. I've run a bunch of different series at Phoenix and that contributes to me feeling comfortable there."
"I've never raced a Cup car there so we'll be getting the feel during the first practice. It's better going to a track that I've seen before than just showing up at a track like Pocono and trying to be competitive. Phoenix is going to be like a lot of places we've gone to this year. The veteran guys are going to have a leg up on us for a while, but I'm sure when (Kevin) Hamlin (crew chief, No. 29) and I put our heads together, we'll figure out what we need to do. It's going to help having the Busch car there. I've said all year that running both series helps, and this weekend it should be no different."
HOMESTEAD: Harvick tested the No. 29 GM Goodwrench Service Plus Chevrolet at Homestead-Miami Speedway October 22nd & 23rd to prepare for next month's Pennzoil 400.

BUSCH SERIES POINTS
1. Kevin Harvick 4431
2. Jason Keller 4228
3. Jeff Green 4221
4. Greg Biffle 4032
5. Elton Sawyer 3737
* Harvick has led the Busch Series Points Standings for the last 16 consecutive weeks.
* He has led the Busch points after 24 of 30 races this season.
* His season high points lead was 345 points after Bristol.
* Harvick built his lead to 203 points over Jeff Green with his third place finish at Memphis
BUSCH CHAMPIONSHIP CHASE: If Jeff Green, who is second in the Busch Series Point standings, were to win the next three races and lead the most laps in all three, he would finish the season with 4,783 points.
With a 203-point lead going into Phoenix, if Harvick can average a 15th place finish in the final three races, he would win the championship regardless of how Green finishes.
"We're in a pretty good position right now," Harvick said, "but we're still doing what we have been all year long. This race is far from over. We're approaching this weekend with an aggressive mindset and we're going out to win the race. There is no sense now in driving defensively now. When you put the prevent-defense on (in football), you get away from what made you successful in the first place. If we start racing defensively I think we'd cause more problems for ourselves. I would love to win Phoenix, but I also would love a top-five. These ACDelco guys have worked hard over the last two years and I'd love to see them get what they deserve."
