Notes: This is the first time Goodyear has brought this specific combination of left- and right-side tires to Bristol . . . Goodyear ran this left-side code during NASCAR's visit to Bristol back in April, but with a different right-side code . . . both the Nextel Cup and Busch Series will run the same tire codes this weekend . . . in addition to Bristol, NASCAR teams will run this tire combination at Las Vegas and Pocono (Cup only) in 2005 . . . Bristol is unique among NASCAR tracks when it comes to inner liners . . . unlike other NASCAR ovals less than one mile in length, teams are required to run inner liners in their right-side tires only at Bristol . . . the inflation in those inner liners should be 12-25 psi greater than that of the outer tire.
Goodyear Quote -- Mark Keto, Lead Engineer, Stock Car Racing: "We are bringing a slightly tougher, more heat resistant right-side to Bristol compared to what we brought for the spring race. The right-side compound we used in the spring was unique to Bristol, but this one will now fall in line with what we run at Las Vegas, Pocono and Richmond."
