Joliet, Ill. - Roush Racing and Grainger Industrial Supply announced today that they will move up to NASCAR Winston Cup Series competition next season with Greg Biffle behind the wheel.

The three have been teamed together since 1998 when Biffle garnered Rookie of the Year honors in a Grainger Ford F150 while driving in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. In 2000, Biffle captured the Truck Series championship before the team moved up to the NASCAR Busch Series in 2001. That year Biffle picked up honors for another Rookie of the Year award, chalking up a rookie record five victories in 2001.

Biffle came into today's Tropicana Twister 300 as the Busch Series points leader. He retained his lead in the race, scoring an eighth place finish despite finishing a lap down. He consistently ran in the top ten all day and picked up eight points on second place Jason Keller.

"We had a lot of success last year [in] our first year in the Busch Series," Biffle said. "Hopefully we will be able to close the deal and maybe win the championship this year."

But Biffle is also looking forward to next season. "I'm really excited to be able to go to Winston Cup next year," he said. "It's just a great opportunity for Randy [Goss, crew chief] and I. We're excited to take on the challenge of racing among the world's best in Winston Cup next year."

The addition of Biffle's car next season will bring the total of cars in team owner Jack Roush's Winston Cup stable to five. Biffle will join current Roush Winston Cup drivers Jeff Burton, Kurt Busch, Matt Kenseth and Mark Martin. Roush also currently fields Busch teams for Biffle and Burton, as well as two teams in the Craftsman Truck Series.

"It's a unique situation," Roush said, "for a driver and sponsor to move from the Craftsman Truck Series to the Busch Series and then to Winston Cup together, and we're proud to be associated with the program."

Three paint scheme options were unveiled for Biffle's Winston Cup Series #16 Ford. Grainger's industrial customers who are registered at the corporate website can cast votes for their favorite scheme in a promotion that runs during the month of August.
