"I started racing on short tracks, so getting the chance to compete on superspeedways on the NASCAR Busch and Winston Cup Series has been a welcome change. I think I like these tracks because not only are they physically demanding, but they challenge the driver mentally. Each driver must think about each move he makes, because one mistake can be the end to his day." - Buckshot Jones, driver of the No.00 Crown Fiber Communications Pontiac

The Buckshot Racing team tested at Talladega Superspeedway in April and Jones had this to say about the test session: "We didn't make the first race of the year at Daytona because the front clip on the car was off and I think we've learned from that experience. The test session went well, but we still need to get faster. I think we have a good starting point for the weekend."

Unlike most tracks this year, Jones has experience in a Winston Cup car at Talladega Superspeedway. He qualified 11th and finished 16th in the 1998 Winston 500 when he was filling in as driver for the Stavola Bros. Racing Team.

Jones will be signing autographs at the 14th Annual Race Fever Night at Talladega Superspeedway at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 23.
