Buckshot Jones Track Notes Daytona International Speedway

"We had high hopes when we came to Daytona in February, but we had some problems with our car and ended up not making the race. This is a big race for us and a lot of other drivers because it's only the second time we've run under the lights at this track. I think because I didn't get a chance to race here at the beginning of season makes me and the rest of the team want this even more." - Buckshot Jones, driver of the No.00 Cheez-It Pontiac n Two Races In One Weekend Jones will attempt to qualify for the Pepsi 400 Winston Cup race on July 3rd and then fly to The Milwaukee Mile that evening and compete in the Diehard 250 Busch Series race on July 4th. NASCAR Craftsman Truck driver Jay Sauter will practice and qualify the No.00 Cheez-It Pontiac for Jones in Milwaukee. Winston Cup rookie Buckshot Jones and the Buckshot Racing team have decided to scale back their Winston Cup schedule for the remainder of the 1999 season. Jones will also take over the driving duties of the team's No. 00 Cheez-It Pontiac on the NASCAR Busch Series when the schedule allows. "This team has worked incredibly hard throughout the beginning of their rookie season, but it has been a tough start for us this year," said team owner Billy Jones. "Not only is Buckshot a rookie driver, but this entire organization is a rookie Winston Cup team. They go to these tracks without any information to guide them and if they want to be successful in this competitive series, they cannot afford to go to these races without that information. We are going to pick tracks that suit Buckshot at this point in his career and test those tracks. We want to be prepared." y Cheez-It will be the primary sponsor on the No.00 Pontiac this weekend in the Pepsi 400. Cheez-It is also the primary sponsor of the Buckshot Racing No.00 Pontiac on the NASCAR Busch Series.
