TONY RAINES - No. 37 A&W All-American Food Ford Fusion (Qualified 42nd)

"The early draw certainly didn't help, but we were just a little bit loose in practice on our mock run. We tightened it up a little bit and went a little bit better, but it was still loose off. It's only my second race, so we're learning. We've got room to improve, so that's a good thing. I certainly feel like we can get better, and I think in race trim we were pretty decent. I'm looking forward to a long night tomorrow and a good night."

DAVID RAGAN - No. 6 UPS Ford Fusion (Qualified 38th)

"I think we touched the splitter just a little bit. We picked up some, but we were just too far off when we unloaded today. We made our car better throughout the day and I'm excited about the race, but I wish we could start all over again because we were just too far off when we unloaded today. I've wrecked a car here in qualifying before and started in the back and then finished in the top 10, so it can be done but I'd love to be in that top 15 for tomorrow. It looks like we'll probably be 25th to 30th."

PAUL MENARD - No. 98 Menards Ford Fusion (Qualified 12th)

"It was good. We had a lot more grip than we had earlier. It would have been better but I got tight off four and when I throttled up it snapped loose on me. Still, it was a lot better than we were in practice for sure."

AJ ALLMENDINGER - No. 43 Valvoline Ford Fusion (Qualified 10th)

"Actually, when I got out of the car I thought we were gonna be worse than that from where we're sitting now. The car is fast, but it was just a rough day. I guess it's a rough and good day. When you spin out twice at Bristol and only have slight right-rear damage, I guess it could be a lot worse. The track is just really tricky right now. I don't know if it's the tires or what. It's one of those Catch-22s, the thing is a handful to drive but really fast, and then we make it better to drive and we're really slow. It's just a frustrating day, but the guys did a good job to make up for it and keep digging. I think the guys had a better day than the driver."

TRAVIS KVAPIL - No. 34 Long John Silver's Ford Fusion (Qualified 33rd)

"There was a lot more grip it seemed like than in practice. Obviously, we're locked into the show, so we spent all of our time in race trim and made one shot at it towards the end of practice. We made some improvement since then, but I was just a little too tight right there. It was okay. We had a decent pickup. It's not what we wanted, but kind of what we expected."

KASEY KAHNE - No. 9 Budweiser Ford Fusion (Qualified 11th)

"The track and the grip changes a little bit with the sun and the shade, but the track is actually pretty good. There was a little more grip there then there was in practice and we made some gains, so it was decent for our Budweiser Ford. Hopefully, it will run better tomorrow."

CARL EDWARDS - No. 99 Aflac Ford Fusion (Qualified 2nd)

"My pole only lasted 15-and-a-half seconds, but it was fun while it lasted. I think we'll be top three. I don't know if there will be any cars that go out and beat us, but you never know here. That will be a good spot. We'll have a good pit stall and it will be a good start to the race. I'm proud of my Aflac guys."

WHAT IS IT ABOUT THIS PLACE FOR YOUR SUCCESS? "Success here is fleeting. It goes quick, so I don't feel like I've had a lot of success lately. We have won some races here in all three divisions and it takes a perfect car, and it's gonna take perfect pit strategy too because it's very hard to pass. Even though it's three lanes wide, you're gonna see a lot of guys frustrated with one another and that's why this starting spot is so important."

DAVID GILLILAND - No. 38 Taco Bell Ford Fusion (Qualified 34th)

"We were just really, really loose. The car was just way looser than we needed it and I couldn't get back to the gas. The second lap was our best and I had to let off the gas way before the start-finish line because it was so loose. We listened to people and they weren't really complaining about looseness like what we were, so I don't know. We'll have to go back and look at it, but I really have a lot of confidence in our race trim stuff, so we'll be good."
