CLINT BOWYER, NO. 7 JACK DANIELS IMPALA SS, Finished third, remains ninth in the standings with two races remaining until the start of the Chase:

ON THE RACE

"It wasn't quite what I expected. I really thought that the top line after last night was going to come in and be the preferred line but about half way through the race everybody kind of got down on the bottom and that's where I found my home. My car just worked a little bit better there on the bottom. Come up a little short there at the end but it was what we needed. We needed a good points day and that was a good padding today. Got two races to go before this Chase and that's what this series is all about, it's important."

ON HAVING A LOT BETTER RESULTS AT THIS TRACK VERSUS LAST YEAR AND WHAT HE'S FOUND THAT HAS ALLOWED HIM TO TURN IT AROUND

"I think I've gotten better here. I've learned a lot about the race track, where to be, when to be aggressive, when not to be aggressive. You know, it's one of my favorite tracks now. This is a race track where anything can happen. You're always busy in the car and we just keep creeping on it. Hopefully someday we'll get a win here. There's two race tracks I'd love to win at - here and Daytona."

DID THE CHANGE IN THE TRACK GIVE A LOT GUYS A NEW CHANCE TO WIN HERE?

"I think so. The Car of Tomorrow, we've come a long ways on our cars at RCR and that's been a big part of it. We've had a good handle on the Car of Tomorrow. It's fitting my driving style a little bit more and track position there at the end certainly didn't hurt anything. All of us were running a lot faster. I know I picked up. I was running faster lap times on old tires than I was back there in 10th on brand new tires. Just a lot of different things. They did such a good job with this race track and everybody was concerned and those concerns are put to bed."

ON GETTING A GOOD RESULT AND IF THIS IS A SIGN OF THINGS TO COME:

"Well I certainly hope so. This is when our season turned around last year, these race tracks. I don't know why. I think they're some of our better race tracks we run at towards the end. Mile and a halfs have been good for us. Bristol has always been good to me believe it or not so we got to just keep doing what we're doing. We got to turn the corner, got to make that next step and I believe we can do that and when we do we'll be a championship contending team."

ON POSSIBLY MAKING THE CHASE FOR THE FIRST TIME:

"Well I'm not going to count on that just quite yet til it's over but it's exciting. Everybody on the Jack Daniel's Chevrolet, everybody at RCR, this what everybody goes to work for and all three cars are hopefully headed that way and I'm very excited for everybody."
