INDIANAPOLIS, Friday, Feb. 14, 2003 -- Reserved tickets for the 10th annual Brickyard 400 will be on sale via phone and the Internet starting Sunday, Feb. 16, perfect timing for NASCAR Winston Cup Series fans who have caught racing fever from the Daytona 500 this weekend.

The Brickyard 400 takes place Sunday, Aug. 3 on the famed 2.5-mile oval at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The final round of the True Value IROC Series season will be run Saturday, Aug. 2.

The Speedway's Ticket Office will accept credit-card orders via phone from noon-5 p.m. (EST) on Sunday, Feb. 16. Call (800) 822-4639 or (317) 492-6700.

Online orders for reserved Brickyard 400 race tickets can be made beginning Sunday at 9 a.m. (EST). Tickets for all other Indianapolis Motor Speedway events can be made any time on the World Wide Web at www.imstix.com.

"The Brickyard 400 is the last of the three major events here at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway to be phased into our ticket software for online sales," said Joie Chitwood, IMS senior vice president of business affairs. "It has been a big project, but now fans have the ability to buy tickets for any IMS event any time they wish."

All online sales take place on a secure server with the latest encryption technology, ensuring safe, fast transactions. American Express, Discover Card, Master Card and VISA may be used for the online sales.
