Bowman, Busch lead Wednesday practices ahead of Daytona 500
Today's sessions did not go incident-free.
The third and fourth Daytona 500 practice sessions are now complete and three teams will go into Thursday with backup cars as a result. A multi-car accident early in the first practice sent the teams of Danica Patrick, Jeb Burton, and Michael Annett to backup cars.
More on that incident and video can be seen HERE. The fastest speed of the day belonged to Kyle Busch, who led practice three with a speed of 200.776mph (44.826 seconds), ahead of Jimmie Johnson and Trevor Bayne. 43 cars posted a time.
Alex Bowman and Tommy Baldwin Racing were a surprise at the top of the charts in the practice that followed, which saw Bowman go 200.495mph (44.889 seconds), ahead of Kasey Kahne and Trevor Bayne. Only 32 cars took part this time around.
