"The fans love this place," said McDonald's Ford driver Bill Elliott of the 0.533-mile Bristol Motor Speedway. "Forty-three cars jammed on a half-mile, high-banked track. It's loud, it's definitely full of action, and anything can happen at any given time. From a fan's perspective, it doesn't get much better than Bristol. Now, from a driver's standpoint, it's a whole different ballgame. It's hard on your body, it's hard on your equipment, it's hard on your crew, and so much is out of your control. The name of the game is survival, and getting on with it - to the next race."

Elliott on the 2000 season...

"We're having a solid year so far, and we've got the consistency that we've been looking for," said Elliott. "We all want to win every race, but first and foremost you've got to finish. Dale Jarrett didn't win every race last year, but look at his finishes. That team did it every week, whether it was Bristol or Michigan. That's what it takes."

Elliott Notes...
