The Bass Pro Shops/Cabela’s livery will don Ryan Newman’s No. 31 Chevrolet in the Monster Energy Cup Series starting with the Daytona 500 on February 18—and other races throughout 2018. Bass Pro Shops/Cabela’s will also sponsor RCR’s No. 3 entry in the Xfinity Series with Austin and Ty Dillon.

“I am very excited to continue our partnership with Richard Childress Racing and support three tremendous drivers - Ryan Newman, Austin Dillon, and Ty Dillon,” said Bass Pro Shops founder/CEO Johnny Morris. “Like so many of our loyal customers, we cannot wait to see Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s side-by-side on the race cars and in Victory Lane. We know many of our customers, conservation partners and associates have an affinity for NASCAR which has made our partnership with RCR so successful. We’re excited to get things started with the Daytona 500 in February.”

Morris founded Bass Pro Shop in 1972 in Springfield, Mo. BPR completed its acquisition of Cabela’s on Sept. 25, 2017. Bass Pro Shops first foray into NASCAR was with the late Dale Earnhardt in 1998 as an associate sponsor on the No. 3 Chevrolet.

“Our relationship with Bass Pro Shops dates back to the mid-1990s and we’re thrilled to be able to continue it during the 2018 season,” said RCR’s Chairman and CEO, Richard Childress in a release. “Austin, Ty and Ryan are terrific ambassadors for the great outdoors. They are all passionate about our hunting, fishing and conservation heritage which has made this partnership thrive. Next season will be exciting as we welcome Cabela’s, the iconic outdoor brand acquired by Bass Pro Shops, to the RCR family.”

Newman, who is also an avid fisherman, will join the Dillons in serving as outdoor conservation spokesmen for Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s.
