BAM RACING AND PARALYZED VETERANS OF AMERICA FORM INNOVATIVE PARTNERSHIP
Fans invited to support Paralyzed Veterans in Tribute Star program featured on No. 49 Dodge
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (May 2, 2007) -- BAM Racing announced today the formation of a partnership between the team and Paralyzed Veterans of America (Paralyzed Veterans) for the 2007 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series season and beyond. Paralyzed Veterans will serve as primary sponsor on the No. 49 Dodge for 30 race events this season utilizing an innovative marketing strategy.
Under the partnership between Paralyzed Veterans and BAM Racing/ARMER Holding LLC, the public can pay tribute to the military service of a family member or friend by purchasing a Tribute Star at www.pva.org. A Gold Star $100 Tribute places the name of the honored service member or veteran on the race car itself and on a virtual wall at pva.org. A Silver Star $50 Tribute appears on a virtual wall at pva.org. A significant portion of the proceeds will go directly to Paralyzed Veterans and its work to help returning service members and veterans maximize the quality of their lives.
"Our race team is a close-knit group that realizes the opportunity our sport allows us to give back to the community and make a difference," said team owner Beth Ann Morgenthau. "The entire BAM Racing organization is proud to support Paralyzed Veterans and heighten awareness of the organization and the veterans it serves."
Founded in 1946, Paralyzed Veterans is the only congressionally chartered veterans service organization dedicated solely for the benefit and representation of individuals with spinal cord injury or disease. Paralyzed Veterans is a dynamic, broad-based organization with more than 19,000 members in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.
"Support among NASCAR fans for our service members and veterans is extremely strong. This is an exciting way to tell those good folks more about the Paralyzed Veterans of America," said Randy L. Pleva Sr., national president of Paralyzed Veterans.
"This is a great way to enjoy NASCAR and support our troops. By purchasing a Tribute Star, your generosity will be supporting our 24/7 effort to ensure that our seriously injured heroes and their families have all the services and tools they need and deserve," Mr. Pleva continued.
