On Tuesday, Furniture Row Racing announced that Auto-Owners Insurance has expanded its livery on the No. 78 Toyota from six to eight races in 2018.

Auto-Owners Insurance joins fellow primary sponsors Bass Pro Shops and 5-hour Energy to fully compliment the team for all 38 events next season.

“Our partnership with Auto-Owners Insurance keeps on growing and we’re thrilled to have them as a key member of our family of sponsors,” Furniture Row team owner Barney Visser said in the release. “Auto-Owners not only puts its name on the car but they also use the sponsorship to generate creative company promotions around the team. It’s been a win, win partnership and that’s the way it should be.”

Auto-Owners Insurance joined FRR in 2016. The sponsor won its first race with Truex that season in the Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway. This season, Truex won at both Kansas (May) and Charlotte (October) with the Auto-Owners Insurance livery. The Lansing, Mich.-based sponsor will don the No. 78 car this weekend at Phoenix Raceway.

Truex is enjoying the best year of his career. He’s scored seven wins, led a tour-high 2,175 of a possible 10,002 laps raced and led the point standings since July 8.

“Auto-Owners Insurance has been a great partner,” Truex said. “I personally appreciate all they have done to activate the program. And how about that No. 78 Auto-Owners blue car. There sure is something special about that paint scheme.

“It seems like every time the blue car is a primary we either win or are close to winning. I also want to thank Auto-Owners employees for the Ride with Martin campaign that generated $75,000 to the Martin Truex Jr. Foundation.”
