Marlin scores top-15 finish in Atlanta.

Hampton, Ga. (March 9, 2003) --- Sterling Marlin turned his worst qualifying run of the season into a top-15 finish at Atlanta Motor Speedway on Sunday. Marlin drove the No. 40 Coors Light Dodge to a 14th place finish after starting the Bass Pro Shops MBNA 500 in 34th place.

Marlin fought the balance on his Coors Light Dodge all day but quick pit stops and continuous car adjustments helped him move up through the field. The Coors Light crew consistently performed 13 and 14 second pit stops throughout the race.

"We couldn't find the right balance in the car all day," Marlin said. "It was loose, tight, loose, tight."

"We're not where we need to be right now with the 40 car," Team Manager, Tony Glover said following the race. "We missed it Friday qualifying and had to start in the rear. A couple of guys were so good early on that we got lapped before that first yellow. We got the car a little better, but we weren't nowhere fast as we needed to be.

"We've got some work to do. We were no match for those guys up front by any means. Until we can be the best Dodge week in and week out like we've been the past two years then we've got to go to work to make our program better and not worry about what the other folks are doing. We've just got to get our stuff better."
