STATESVILLE, N.C. -- No. 19 Stanley Dodge driver Elliott Sadler is one of the biggest sports fans in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series garage--if you don't believe that just look at Sadler's schedule this week.
Thursday will find him on the sidelines at the South Carolina-N.C. State football game, then Friday he'll be at Eagles Landing Country Club in Stockbridge, Ga. playing golf in the Reed Sorenson Charity Golf Classic to benefit Speedway Children's Charities. The Emporia Virginia native will watch Saturday night's Alabama-Virginia Tech football game from the Coca-Cola suite at the Georgia Dome before getting back to work on Sunday behind the wheel of the Richard Petty Motorsports car for the NASCAR race at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
SADLER ON RACING UNDER THE LIGHTS AT ATLANTA: "It's great to have the Labor Day race back in the Southeast. Atlanta is a great race track -- it's fast, high-banked and multi-grooved so you can run anywhere. I think the biggest thing this weekend is racing under the lights. It'll add speed to an already fast race track. You add in the double file restarts to make it more interesting. I think it's going to be like the racing we saw in Charlotte for the All-Star race and the Coke 600. I'm really looking forward to an entertaining race.
SADLER ON COLLEGE FOOTBALL KICKOFF WEEKEND: "I'm a racecar driver first and foremost, but I absolutely love college football. I'm so excited for the season to start this weekend. I'm actually going to two games -- I'm going to be on the South Carolina sideline cheering them on Thursday night. My spotter is a big Gamecocks fan and he always does his best to make sure we make it to a couple games. Then on Saturday night I'm going to be up in the Coca-Cola suite for the Virginia Tech-Alabama game. I'm a Virginia guy, so I'll be pulling for the Hokies on Saturday. It's so much fun to make it out to the games and be a fan."
