JEFF GREEN (No. 43 Cheerios/Betty Crocker Dodge Charger)
"The Evernham motor ran good off the truck, and our Dodge is handling great with tape on and tape off. I'm looking forward to Sunday. I think it was a little advantage for us going out first. I think later on the dew will come in and make the track slicker. There's going to be a fine line. I don't know if first was the right spot, but it wasn't bad."
CASEY MEARS (No. 41 Target/Nicorette Dodge Charger)
"We didn't go up on the rev chip like we always do for qualifying. We killed the rev chip at both ends. We would have been better, but that's the way it goes."
STERLING MARLIN (No. 40 Coors Light Dodge Charger)
"It wasn't bad. We were a little free in three and four, but it wasn't a bad lap. We'll watch the Vols beat the Gamecocks on TV tomorrow and then come back Sunday and try to get a good run with the Coors Light Dodge."
RUSTY WALLACE (No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge Charger)
"It was a little loose off turn two, but other than that it was a pretty solid run. We picked up quite a bit. The track is real fast right now. I feel good about the race. I always feel good going into the race. The car is adjustable, so we should be in good shape."
KYLE PETTY (No. 45 Georgia-Pacific/Brawny Dodge Charger)
"It was OK. That's the first time we made a qualifying run. We ran the same set of tires in both practices. Jeff did a great job in the Cheerios Dodge Charger, and we've got a good car for the race. We worked hard on our race setup for two hours, so hopefully it'll pay off."
JEREMY MAYFIELD (No. 19 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge Charger)
"We didn't make a qualifying lap today. We really didn't know where we were. I'm proud of these guys. The motor ran great, and the car handled good. From where we came from today to run a 29 flat is pretty good."
TRAVIS KVAPIL (No. 77 Kodak/Jasper Dodge Charger)
"The car doesn't feel like it's down on the racetrack, and that's what we've been fighting the whole time. It's got a ton of grip and it's real fast, but I was out of the gas too long. It didn't feel real good, but we know we're in the race. We'll put the race setup in and hopefully it'll pay off for us Sunday."
REED SORENSON (No. 39 Discount Tire Dodge Charger)
"Our goal coming down here was to get in the race, and we've done that. That's the most nervous I've ever been in qualifying. This is the biggest race in my life so far, and it has been very nerve-racking. I think we came close to getting everything out of the car. I did all I could without wrecking it. We want to run all 500 miles now. I think the car is going to be real good in race trim. We tested and we were horrible, and we came back and were pretty good in practice today. I feel pretty good about it right now."
