HOW WAS YOUR LAP? "It was real good. Obviously the second lap was going to be junk, so I had to abort there. Really, the guys did a great job getting this Interstate Batteries Chevrolet ready for qualifying here. We had a little bit of practice this morning and worked on it ever so slightly to hopefully get it just right for one lap of qualifying, or two laps of qualifying, whatever we needed. Again, the guys did a good job and this is a good little race car."
RICKY CRAVEN, NO. 32 TIDE PONTIAC GRAND PRIX:
HOW WAS YOUR QUALIFYING RUN? "It was good. It was a little slicker out there than what it was earlier. It probably warmed up 25 degrees, so that's to be expected."
DID IT HURT YOU GOING OUT FIRST? "I'm not sure. I don't think it matters too much. I mean, if somebody gets a good cloud cover, that would be an advantage, but other than that I don't think it's a real big deal. We're going to be fine on Sunday - I'm looking forward to the race."

HOW WAS YOUR LAP? "It was an alright lap, not great. Could've been better.
DID YOU NOTICE A CHANGE IN THE TRACK CONDITIONS FROM PRACTICE TO QUALIFYING? "No, the track was fine - we were just off."
JOE NEMECHEK, NO. 25 UAW-DELPHI CHEVROLET MONTE CARLO:
HOW WAS IT? "It was okay. The first lap I got a little bit too tight into (turn) one, and I had to readjust my line, and the second lap was a good lap."
MIKE SKINNER, NO. 4 KODAK PONTIAC GRAND PRIX:
"That's just pretty close to all we had today. Our car drove pretty good. It was maybe a little bit free. Maybe we pulled the wrong gear - I don't know. But, we just didn't have a whole lot more in it today."
MICHAEL WALTRIP, NO. 15 NAPA CHEVROLET MONTE CARLO:
"That was just a wreck about to happen. I got sideways more than you should be able to. Usually if you get that sideways you don't qualify very well. Luckily, it happened so late that letting off wasn't a choice, so I just held it wide open and held on.
"We did good with the setup and with the effort. In order for us to get that pole it just needed to stick when I asked it to do what I asked it to do, and it just wasn't willing to do it today."
DO YOU HAVE SOMETHING FOR SUNDAY? "You never know. This is a different program. You've got to figure that out tomorrow."
TONY STEWART, NO. HOME DEPOT CHEVROLET MONTE CARLO:
"I'm pretty happy with that. We made some big changes from practice to qualifying, and finally made the thing drive a little bit better.
"I'm pretty excited. Normally if we qualify decent here we race really, really well here."
JEFF GREEN, NO. 30 AOL CHEVROLET MONTE CARLO:
"We lost a little bit and I just can't understand it. The hot sun, for sure, hurt us, but it didn't hurt some of them guys, so that's kind of confusing me a little bit.
"But, I enjoy Atlanta and race good here, so I'm looking forward to the race now."
DALE EARNHARDT, JR., NO. 8 BUDWEISER CHEVROLET MONTE CARLO:
"We were just really, really loose. We were just a few inches from a backup car, so I'm pretty glad we've still got the car in one piece. We just tried some stuff that didn't work.
"It's a good thing it was just qualifying. We've got a long day Sunday. We'll make it back up."
STEVE PARK, NO. 1 PENNZOIL CHEVROLET MONTE CARLO:
"The car in practice was not where we wanted it to be. The Pennzoil guys worked really hard on the car. We changed four shocks and springs to qualify. It's kind of funny because I told my guys that I would take it a little bit easy on the first lap to feel it out. I went through one and two kind of on the -- if you want to call it - conservative-side for Atlanta. Then the car handled so good that I drove it off into three. We probably left a little more on the table than we wanted to, but after all the changes we made, we just wanted to feel it out and make sure the car is where we needed it to be for qualifying. Rich Hubbs, my car chief, told me that we have a good back-up car, so I just went for it."
