The Atlanta event is here and should be the biggest gathering of Marrow Angels to date. Fans for Life now has T-shirts that will be given to fans donating $10 or more to our bank. Ricon Graphics in Gainesville, Florida, is working with us on this project and we appreciate their help. They do a lot of work with several blood centers in the Southeast and do great work. The Fans for Life bank will be at Hurd Racing Mart from 9-5 on Saturday and Sunday. Hurt's is located on Why 19/41 between the main and airport entrances to the speedway. Jim and Tami Hurd have graciously allowed us to use their business to set up.
Rich Woodland (http://www.richwoodland.com) in the # 86, Chevy Monte Carlo, will be running the Fansforlife.com decals in this Weekends ARCA Event The Johnson Industries/EasyCare 300 (122 laps) at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
Last week in Las Vegas Fansforlife.com decals raced along with Jerry Nadeau (Winner of the Winston West Race) on the Melling owned #9 WCW/nWo sponsored Ford and also LaFavre Racing's BGN Entry, driven by Mike Garvey, had our Decals on the #09 Emerald First Financial Chevy Monte Carlo. Special Thanks to John Cerbone from BGNN, he not only is racing with our decals, he has made and donated 100's of them.
Fansforlife.com has added a News Section, this site is updated twice a day, with news bits from all series. We are also Kicking off our "Stockcar Bank Contest" and New Section coming soon called "Kids Corner." Last year the links for Fans for Live consisted or 2 pages. This year, at our own domain, FFL has really grown!
Speaking of last year's marrow drives, I (Sandra) received some very heart warming news today. In January of last year, the first FFL marrow drive was held in Dothan, Alabama. In the fall of last year we had a potential match from that drive and today I learned that a second match was found. The match is for a one year old boy who has leukemia. The match is having confirmation samples taken next Monday at the Talladega room in Dothan where the drive was held and the transplant will take place soon afterwards if all goes well. I never in my wildest dreams could have imagined that we would have these kind of results. If winning a race is half as good as what I feel now then I don't see how our heroes of the track stand it.
