KASEY KAHNE (No. 9 Budweiser Dodge Charger)
"The car drove great. I was a little tight in three and four and probably didn't get through three and four as fast as I needed too. Everything felt good. I took a second lap because I didn't get through three and four as well as I should have on the first lap. I actually made it through there a little better, but the car slowed down because of tires."
SAM HORNISH, JR (No. 77 Mobil 1 Dodge Charger)
"We missed on our practice qualifying setup. We were tight out there. I'm really happy with the guys on the Mobil 1 Dodge team. We had a tough day today. Things really didn't go our way. We feel pretty good about our race setup. We should have a good car for the race, but you just don't want to start too far back. The good thing about Atlanta, if you have a good car, there's plenty of places to pass out there."
ELLIOTT SADLER (No. 19 Best Buy Dodge Charger)
"We're still not where we need to be. We're still working on our qualifying stuff. We qualified right there with Kasey, but we'll still not where we want to be. We're still working on our program step-by-step each and every week. Kevin (Buskirk, crew chief) is still learning a lot about these cars we have. We're getting our communications down. We need some good luck. We had some bad luck last week at Vegas. We need to run all 500 miles in Atlanta. The car was decent today in race trim. We still have to fine tune and make it a little better. We need to run all 500 miles on Sunday. If we do that, we're going to call it a pretty successful weekend."
DAVID STREMME (No. 12 Penske Racing Dodge Charger)
"I was running a different line and I think it was better in the day than it was at night. You only get one lap here. I got into one too hard. We'll be fine. We have a good racecar. Obviously, we're not going to get a good starting spot up front."
REED SORENSON (No. 43 Super 8 Dodge Charger)
"I didn't know what to expect. We started out so far off; it's been a long day for us. We had an hour-and-half practice and we made enough changes for a half a day. We haven't found that baseline to work from. We have a lot of work ahead of us tomorrow."
AJ ALLMENDINGER (No. 44 Charter Communications Dodge Charger)
"The lap was pretty bad actually. Thank God we got in. We just didn't get what we needed to out of it. I struggle to get round this place in qualifying, trying to figure out where to run. We got in. I guess that's the only good thing to say about it."
