Ambrose brings Bostitch colors to Charlotte

Ambrose will be making his 10th NASCAR Sprint Cup Series start at the track this weekend.

CONCORD, N.C. (October 8, 2013) - This Saturday night, Marcos Ambrose and the No. 9 team will have a new look. The team will boast the Bostitch brand on the hood and sides of the No. 9 Ford. It's the first time this season that the company will support Ambrose. It also couldn't come at a better time. Ambrose is coming off a ninth-place finish this past Sunday at the Kansas Speedway and heads into Charlotte where he finished in the top-10 in May.

Ambrose has a total of three top-10 finishes at the fast mile-and-half tri-oval and also has one fifth-place finish. Ambrose will be making his 10th NASCAR Sprint Cup Series start at the track this weekend.

Comments from Bostitch Ford Fusion Driver Marcos Ambrose:

"We're proud to have Bostitch on our car this weekend. They have been with us before, but this is the first time this season and they're a pretty big part of this weekend. We want to give them a good run this weekend and be proud of us. It's a good weekend for them to join us. Charlotte is a fast track, an exciting track and 500 miles here under the lights is pretty cool. It's not the biggest race the schedule, but any time you race at Charlotte it's a big race. It's a home track for everyone and a lot of friends and family come out for this event. We're just going to welcome Bostitch to the show and hope they enjoy themselves.

"Charlotte is always a pretty big week. 'The King' is hosting the Richard Petty Golf Classic presented by Wyndham this week. That's a pretty big event and raises a lot of money for Victory Junction. I'll get some golf in and then head to the track on Thursday for practice and qualifying. Friday we'll practice in the afternoon and early evening. We'll get things locked down for Saturday night. It's going to be a bit cooler outside and that means we'll have a lot of speed. And, 500 miles here puts a lot of strain on the engine and gears. We'll make sure that we're all set there too.

"I'm looking forward to the weekend. We were pretty fast at Kansas in the race and overcame a spin. We finished ninth and that felt good. We finished 10th at Charlotte in May and I feel we can do that again. I think we could be better than that too. We know the guys in the 'Chase' will be fast, but we're going to mix it up with them. I think we all feel good about Saturday night."

Comments from Crew Chief Drew Blickensderfer on Charlotte:

"Last time we raced here at Charlotte our biggest obstacle was the TV cable falling on the track and getting caught up in our car. I have been racing for a long time and that's not something you see often. But, NASCAR did a nice job handling that best they could. We rebounded from that and finished 10th. The cable did some damage to the car so this weekend we want to see what we can do without a damaged car for the majority of the race.

"We should be pretty good. Marcos has been fast here, we had a good car at Kansas at the end of the race and we have confidence that we can finish in the top-10, top-five and compete for a win. We've been making some big gains on the car this year. We have had some struggles at times, but at Charlotte we're always fast. We're looking forward to the weekend."

Chassis History:

The No. 9 team will bring chassis No. 847 this weekend. The team raced this chassis to a 10th-place finish at Charlotte in the spring.
