Ready to tame Homestead: “Homestead-Miami Speedway is a tough track for sure especially as the years have went on and it has got slicker and slicker with the Florida weather and how it comes and goes,” Allmendinger said. “With these cars we are racing now, I am sure it will be a little different. I am just thankful to be getting back in the car.”

Back in the saddle again: “It has been four or five weeks since I have been in the car and I am looking forward to having that feel again and get back into the flow,” Allmendinger said. “I am happy to be back full-time in a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series car in 2014 and working with Tad (Geschickter) and the entire JTG Daugherty Racing organization. We are all focused on making the team better.”

Hand over the keys: “I am ready to hit the road with Scott Racing and eventually hand over my car to surprise one lucky fan,” said Allmendinger. “Time is running out for fans to enter for a chance to win my car, if you haven't been to ScottBrand.com to register you better race on over there and get signed up!"

Business as usual: “It is the typical race weekend where we will stay focused on being what we are there for, throughout the weekend,” Allmendinger said. “It will be nice to be back with the guys at the track because I enjoy being around them. I see them at the shop, but it has been a month since I have been at the track with them. Our focus is to have a solid weekend. That is our mindset. We really want to end the season with a solid finish. That is key for us.”

Team building: “I am really excited and ready to get things going for next year,” Allmendinger said. “It is a fun group to be associated with. I feel like we have the capability of getting better and building into a strong team.”

Fresh start: “I think it is one of those things where I am trying to get everything organized and have a clear mind going into the next couple years,” Allmendinger said. “We are trying to build something. I am going into the off season for the first time in the November period knowing what I can focus on next year to get better inside and outside the racecar. Keep building. Build is a big word for me right now to be a part of this team for a long time. My mindset is that I am a little more relaxed and focused on the task at hand.”

Chassis 708: “The car we will have at Homestead is 708,” crew chief Brian Burns said. “AJ raced it at Atlanta Motor Speedway and Kansas Speedway. It is only the third race so it is still a fairly new car. He is familiar with it and we should unload well. We have made some gains on intermediate tracks and should have a pretty good baseline package after learning some things at Texas Motor Speedway.”

Getting a jump on 2014: “We have AJ back so we can start to focus on next year,” Burns said. “We are in a good place for the season finale because it is a track where he has good finishing results. We just want to finish strong to help launch us forward into 2014.”

Plans in the off season: “I don’t know really because I have not thought that far ahead,” Allmendinger said. "I am just trying to really get things organized and stay really focused. I want to be level-headed when we start racing next year. Right now, the only thing I have is a go-kart race next week in Las Vegas. Otherwise, I am just focused on life so that when I am at the track I am good to go.”
