It's Heim Time in San Diego. A first-time winner and a future superstar of the sport...we'll have coverage of that and much more at Motorsport.com shortly.

Just 8pts between Reddick and Hamlin in the championship standings now.

San Diego Results

  1. Corey Heim
  2. Bubba Wallace
  3. Kyle Larson
  4. Zane Smith
  5. AJ Allmendinger
  6. Chris Buescher
  7. Ross Chastain
  8. Riley Herbst
  9. Ryan Blaney
  10. Michael McDowell

Heim wins with Bubba Wallace 2nd and Kyle Larson 3rd...Reddick 25th after a flat tire.

In just his 13th career start, part-time driver COREY HEIM wins the NASCAR Cup Series race at Naval Base Coronado! WHAT A STORY!

Huge championship implications right there as Reddick limps around the track

Reddick has a big issue! LF TIRE IS FLAT

Reddick lifted after pushing Heim wide, which was very fair of him.

Heim bounces off the wall, and takes the lead!

UNREAL racing.

Heim continues to shadow Reddick, who remains mistake-free

Heim is a part-time Cup driver, attempting to secure his first-ever Cup win. Wow.

Reddick and Heim have left everyone else, over seven seconds clear of the field

Chastain only lost a few spots due to this, but Hocevar is back into the mid-20s

No change in position near the front, but Heim is moving closer to Reddick

Hocevar spins out, Chastain can't avoid him and is collected!

This restart is not working out well for Larson, who has dropped several positions to P5

The front row for this restart will be Hocevar and Larson

Several who were caught out on old tires have pitted, including Buescher, who gave up the lead!

Hocevar, Reddick, Wallace, and Chastain were all on pit road at the time of the caution. Incredible timing for that group

Now Hocevar pits from the lead as Heim is all over Larson!

Stenhouse has pulled into a runoff area, and stopped the car.

Larson and Heim pit with 16 laps to go! Heim had also erased Larson's entire lead margin before that!

Buescher leads those who have made their final stop, now P8.

Things have calmed down a bit around the track...for now.
