Carson Hocevar is a NASCAR Cup Series, his first win coming in his 91st start. Here's how he got it done:
He just nosed the car into the wall and is doing a burnout while hanging out of the car! Burnout of the year right there
This is incredible
Hocevar is hanging out the window while driving the car! The fans love it
This will be a very popular win
There was also a major crash right at the finish. SVG, Bell, ADillon, Preece all involved
Jankowiak in ARCA, Day in O'Reilly, and Hocevar in Cup...three first-time winners this weekend at 'Dega
CARSON HOCEVAR WINS AT TALLADEGA!
WHITE FLAG!
BUESCHER VS. HOCEVAR
GREEN FLAG!
Buescher-Stenhouse-Elliott up front, Hocevar-Bowman-ADillon down low for the restart.
Just three laps to go at the restart.
Replay shows that Hocevar came down the track after an awkward bump from Stenhouse, and Jones paid the price.
Free pass ... Denny Hamlin!
The caution flies as Jones is stuck in the infield
Hocevar into the door of Jones, who goes spinning!
Status quo up front with Hocevar and Buescher
10 laps remain.
Hocevar-Stenhouse vs Buescher-Jones are the new alliances at the front
Hocevar to the lead!
Lots of movement now! Hocevar to the top behind Buescher
20 to go: Buescher-Jones-Stenhouse up top, Hocevar-Bowman-ADillon down low
Buescher has caught back up and draws even with Hocevar for P1
The top did not go at all and Hocevar surged ahead on the inside
Back racing with just 22 laps to go!
Gilliland, Suarez, Reddick and Allmendinger were the other lead lap cars beyond Busch to pit during this caution, as did T. Dillon being the free pass
PENALTY - Kyle Busch was among a handful of cars who pitted during this caution, and he has been sent to the rear of the field for an uncontrolled tire
Ty Dillon got the free pass during this yellow flag
Close call for several cars there as Reddick blew a tire in the tire in the middle of the pack
CAUTION for debris from Reddick
Reddick slows with an issue! The #45 is all beat up from an earlier wreck, and it looks like he had a tire go down.
Not much movement. Not really enough cars anymore for those mid-pack to make something happen
Hamlin is still a lap down in 21st, and he has yet to get back on the lead lap after that Stage 1 speeding penalty
It's Hocevar/Jones up top and Buescher/Bowman down low. No one has to pit for fuel again so this is a straight race to the checkered flag
Buescher and Hocevar clear the inside line and now battle each other for the lead
Green flag with 38 laps to go! Chris Buescher and Alex Bowman lead the two lanes
PENALTY: Shane van Gisbergen speeding
