QUESNEL, BC - Carl Harr won his second CASCAR Castrol Super Series West race of the season, on Saturday night at Gold Pan Speedway in Quesnel, BC. The Edmonton, AB Chevrolet Monte Carlo racer started fourth in the OK Tire 150 and hounded Kevin Dowler who led the first 129 laps for most of the race until making the winning pass on the backstraight on lap 130. From there, Dowler had his hands full keeping his Ford Quality Care Service Taurus ahead of the third-running Don Sales, which allowed Harr to stretch out his winning margin to almost 2.5 seconds by the conclusion of 150 laps. Dowler and Sales (Skoal Inc. Chevy) completed the podium finishers. Based on the finish, Carl Harr moves to the top of the unofficial CASCAR Castrol Super Series West point standings. The Chevy driver holds a slim lead over Dowler. Dan Shirley, who entered the race in the lead, fell to third in the standings following his eighth-place result.

OK Tire 150 Notes: During qualifying for the OK Tire 150, heat victories went to Charlie Kirton and Trevor Seibert... As a tribute to Winston Cup driver Kenny Irwin, who was killed in a practice incident in New Hampshire the day before the CASCAR race, the drivers waited 42 seconds after receiving the command to start their engines before firing up their cars. Irwin drove the #42 Chevrolet on NASCAR’s top circuit... Carl Harr was quickest during time trials for the event, lapping the 1/4-mile oval in just 14.723 seconds, which was well under the existing track record of 15.162. In all, nine drivers bested the previous mark.
