Jim Lapcevich and Tim Hortons team hoping for another good showing in next NASCAR event
HAMILTON, ONTARIO (August 13, 2008) -- Coming off a solid top-ten finish, Jim Lapcevich is preparing to continue on a positive note when he and the Tim Hortons/Fastline Motorsports team pull into Trois-Rivières this weekend for the running of the Grand-Prix de Trois-Rivières August 16-17.
The upcoming event is the ninth in the 13-race NASCAR Canadian Tire Series for 2008.
"We had a good day at the recent Mosport race," said Lapcevich, who drives the Tim Hortons Chevy Monte Carlo. "I enjoy racing on the track at Trois-Rivières, and we had a solid finish there last year with both Tim Hortons cars finishing in the top-five."
Lapcevich, who started 20th in the Mosport event last week, drove a solid race and placed eighth in the 200-lapper.
He started the 2007 Trois-Rivières race 15th in the 28-car field and finished fifth one position behind his teammate Jeff Lapcevich who finished fourth in the 41-lap event on the 1.53-mile temporary road circuit.
"We got it together at Mosport," added Lapcevich, who resides in Hamilton, Ontario. "We'll be ready for this weekend, and are hoping for good things."
Teammate Jeff Lapcevich will not compete this weekend.
