Komoka, Ontario -- CASCAR announced today a co-promotion agreement with the Canadian Retail Hardware Association (CRHA). The agreement positions CASCAR as the official sponsor of the new "Auto Focus" Pavilion that will be launched at the 2003 edition of the Canadian Hardware and Building Materials Show, February 2, 3 and 4, 2003.
The debut of CASCAR's Auto Focus Pavilion at Canada's largest hardware industry trade show responds to the trend amongst hardware retailers towards carrying a broader assortment of automotive aftermarket products. The CRHA, in partnership with CASCAR, has developed the Auto Focus Pavilion to provide its members access to the hottest new products in the category.
As part of the agreement, CASCAR will be present at the Show with an exhibit in Auto Focus that features the Home Hardware sponsored car of defending two-time CASCAR Super Series Champion Don Thomson Jr. CASCAR will have an additional presence throughout the trade show floor, with cars and special activities taking place throughout the three-day show. CRHA will work with CASCAR to attract new automotive aftermarket exhibitors to Auto Focus, and will provide incentives to CASCAR sponsors who wish to exhibit at CHS 2003.
"We are very pleased that CASCAR has chosen to become involved with the CRHA," stated Rob Wallace, promotional events manager for Home Hardware Stores Limited. "Home Hardware has always had a strong presence at the Canadian Hardware and Building Materials Show, and I think it is great that a 'racing flare' has been added to the Show that will provide us the perfect opportunity to showcase our two-time championship winning driver, Don Thomson Jr."
Further to promotional activities on the trade show floor, the co-promotion agreement will see the CRHA and CASCAR cooperate on advertising and special promotional activities leading up to the show. CRHA and CASCAR have already jointly appeared in Hardware and Home Center Magazine, Home Improvement Retailing magazine, and Hardware Merchandising magazine.

"The hardware and building materials industry represents a huge group of manufacturers and marketers whom we hope to educate about CASCAR. By sponsoring Auto Focus, we not only get a chance to display our product to this group, but to show that we support the home improvement industry and its Canadian association, the CRHA."

The CASCAR Super Series is Canada's top level of stock car racing, with 12 events held in Ontario, Quebec, and Alberta. Over 150 race teams across the country compete in CASCAR's three series'; the Western Series, CARQUEST Sportsman Series, and the Super Series.
