BOWMANVILLE, Ont., Canada (Aug. 9, 2009) -- Andrew Ranger and Scott Steckly are racing each other around racetracks all over Canada and at the top of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series championship standings.

Ranger won the Vortex Brake Pads 200 at Mosport Speedway, but Steckly finished second to keep the title chase close.

Goodyear is the sole tire supplier for the Canadian series. The relationship between the tiremaker and the series dates back to the previous century. The bias-ply tires Goodyear manufactures for the series are also used by the NASCAR Camping World Series East and West programs.

Ranger took the lead on the 155th lap at Mosport and led 57 of the last 65 laps around the half-mile oval. He averaged 61.277 mph over the 200-lap distance. It was his fourth win of the 2009 season.

Steckly finished .711 of a second behind the winner. D.J. Kennington finished third, followed by Ron Beauchamp and Don Thomson Jr. Thomson started on the pole after turning a lap averaging 82.421 mph during time trials.

Ranger leads the standings with 1,364 points, while Steckly is second with 1,318.
