Holland, MI - Michigan native, Marc Miller, will continue to progress through the motorsports ranks with a test with the #82 RaceSportz Tide Racing Monte Carlo at Canada's Mosport Park Race Course in April, 2002. The successful road racer was presented with an opportunity to sign with the team as a back-up/test driver at all road course events for 2002, as well as future opportunities for additional race events. Team owner, David Connelly, approached Miller in February after finding out that he had been exploring options to drive in more stock car events in his future.
"We are looking forward to giving Marc a shot in our Tide car," said Connelly. "He is not only an extremely quick driver, but also understands the business side of racing. He has what it takes and knows what is needed when working with top sponsors such as Procter & Gamble."
In addition to the April CASCAR test, Miller has set plans to race in a limited number of Sunoco Super Series Stock Car races in 2002. He plans on beginning testing in the Spring and race in selected events depending on budget restraints, but hopes to schedule numerous test sessions with different teams to hopefully find a competitive racing environment for the 2003 season.
"I think this is just one of those chances I need to pounce on," said Miller. "I can't thank David and the Tide Racing CASCAR team enough for this opportunity. I will certainly be keeping busy all year knocking on doors so that I can turn these limited schedules into full-time race schedules for next year or however long it takes."
