OSHAWA, Ontario, Canada (June 21, 2004) -- Jeff Lapcevich took advantage of the dependability of his Goodyear tires, using it to win the Clarington 200 CASCAR Super Series race at Mosport International Raceway.

Lapcevich, who has won the last three Super Series races on road courses, stopped just once during the race and changed only two tires. The race was slowed by only one early caution period, forcing the teams to perform green-flag pit stops.

Most of the teams changed four tires, but Lapcevich had a shorter pit stop because his team changed only two. The margin of victory was 21.718 seconds.

Peter Gibbons finished second, Don Thomson was third, Scott Steckly was fourth and Mark Dilley came home fifth.

Gibbons now leads the championship standings with 641 points. Dave Whitlock is second with 613.
