RANGER WINS POLE, LEADS EVERY LAP AT REXALL RACE

EDMONTON, Alberta, Canada (July 27, 2009) -- Andrew Ranger didn't leave anything open to question when he won the Canadian Tire 100 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series race at Rexall Speedway.

Ranger posted the fastest lap in qualifying, started on the pole and collected his sixth series win after leading every lap of the 32-lap chase around the 1.973-mile, 14-turn road course. The victory increased his lead in the in the championship standings.

Goodyear is the exclusive tire provider for the Canadian Tire Series. The line of Goodyear Eagles supplied to the series is the same line used by the NASCAR Camping World Series east and west divisions. The tires are of bias-ply construction.

Ranger averaged 66.343 mph over the race distance after winning the pole with a lap averaging 87.753 mph during time trials. The race was slowed by just two caution periods.

J.R. Fitzpatrick finished second, .481 of a second behind the winner. Scott Steckly was third, followed by Trevor Seibert and Don Thomson.

Ranger leads Steckly 1,037 to 963 in the standings.
