Jacombs Finishes 9th at Delaware

London, ON: The #88 Lou's Barbecue Taurus of Dave Jacombs finished in ninth in Sunday's running of the APC-CANUSA Great Canadian 300 at Delaware Speedway.

The Lou's BBQ/Inroble/FAG/CPS Flooring Taurus practiced in the top ten on Saturday at the track where they still hold the time trial record set in 2000 by Jacombs of 19.353. Thirty-five entries attempted to qualify on Saturday for the second last event on the CASCAR 2004 tour with Jacombs posting the fifteenth quickest time.

Sunday's 300 lap event saw thirty-five cars take the green flag under beautiful sunny skies. Jacombs quickly settled the #88 Taurus into thirteenth position where he ran until pitting at lap ninety-two for tires and fuel. During the remaining two hundred laps Jacombs ran as high as 8th but when the checkered flag flew at lap 300 the #88 Taurus driver was ninth one lap down to the leaders. 'It was a great day for our team," stated Jacombs after the race. "We had a decent car and managed to stay out of trouble so we are happy."
