SIMONE FINISHES FIFTH IN FIRST APPEARANCE AT DELAWARE

London, ON, Monday June 8, 2009: Anthony Simone driver of the No. 95 Crown Modular/United Lumber Chevrolet Monte Carlo finished fifth in his first appearance at Delaware Speedway. The Delaware 200 presented by Belfor Restoration Service was held Saturday night under the lights and a huge crowd was in attendance for the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series inaugural visit to the popular half mile oval.

It took Simone a bit of time to get comfortable on the track but by the time practice was over he was being scored as fifth quickest overall. Time trials were the next order of business and Simone was significantly slower, relegating him to the 16th starting position. "We were just a little off in our qualifying laps but I know that we have a good car and will be okay for the long runs later in the 200 lap feature," noted Simone after qualifying.

At the drop of the green, Simone started his march to the front of the field. On lap 89 Simone took over the lead and held that position for the next 20 laps. Over the next twenty laps Simone would swap the lead with the No. 12 car of John Gaunt several times before the No.22 of Scott Steckly took over the front position. Simone would stay in the top five for the second half of the race and after three attempts at a green, white checkered finish, Simone held on for a fifth place finish for his first top five in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series.

"We had a good car all night," stated a smiling Simone after the race. "We just tried to stay up front and out of trouble for 200 laps and my crew adjusted on the car to keep getting it better. I would like to thank Crown Modular, United Lumber and all of our other sponsors for helping us to get here. It was fun tonight."

Finish: 1. D. J. Kennington 2. Ron Beauchamp Jr. 3. Scott Steckly
4. 02 Kerry Micks 5. 95 Anthony Simone
