BAD BREAK FOR DILLEY AT BARRIE

BARRIE, ON, Saturday September 11, 2010: Mark Dilley driver of the No. 9 Part Source/Dickies Dodge qualified seventh and was scored in twelfth at the end of the Wild Wing 300 presented by DriveWise on Saturday night at Barrie Speedway.

In practice Dilley turned the sixth fastest time and in qualifying registered a time of 14.591 and an average speed of 82.5 mph which was good enough for a seventh place starting position in event #11 of the 13 race NASCAR Canadian Tire Series.

Dilley started on the inside of row four and when the green flag dropped he settled into ninth. Dilley had moved up two positions when it came time for pit stops on lap 138. His crew bolted on left side tires and added some race fuel to the No. 9 car and he was ready to go again.

Dilley restarted the race in tenth but soon came back to pit road with a flat right front tire. The PartSource crew quickly changed it and sent him back out. But it soon became apparent they had another problem with the No. 9 Dilley machine. He came back to pit road for repairs, but being a small oval track it is hard to make repairs without going down laps. Dilley would lose two laps during the course of the repairs.

Dilley tried to get his laps back on the track as they hoped for another quick caution period. The No.9 PartSource driver ran in the free pass position for several laps but the caution flag they hoped for did not happen. Dilley was scored in twelfth place at the end of the Wild Wing 300 presented by DriveWise.

"Not the finish we were looking for," commented Dilley after the race "We just needed a caution earlier so we could get our laps back, but we took the car home in one piece and are looking forward to Riverside next weekend."

Dilley maintained eighth place NASCAR Canadian Tire Series Point Standings with only two events remaining.

Next up for the No. 9 Part Source/Dickies Dodge will be the Komatsu 300 presented by Wilson Equipment in Nova Scotia at Riverside International Speedway.
