Wyoming, ON: Sunday's running of the Mopar 300, event #3 on the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series Tour proved to be another tough night for Dave Whitlock in the #39 Dickies/Hamilton Tiger Cats/NMT Dodge Charger.

The team struggled in practice a little but they seemed to hit on the right combination when Whitlock took his #39 Charger on the track for qualifying. He posted the seventh quickest time overall with a 14.143, while pole sitter and teammate Mark Dilley posted a 13.969 to take the top stop.

A first lap incident saw the #39 car suffer a little front end damage but they recovered and started moving toward the front. A later brush with his teammate Dilley didn't help the steering on the car either. The Whitlock Dodge went down a lap soon after, only to recover it by way of earning the Beneficiary on a later caution. They continued to struggle with the front end damage all night and hung on for a fifteenth place finish at the end. "I felt a little like what a pin ball must feel like out there," stated a disappointed Whitlock after the race. "Our car started off pretty good, we made it to the front and were fighting for the lead even after the first lap contact but it wasn't meant to be this night."

The Bud Pole Award was won by team mate Mark Dilley who went on to finish second in the Mopar 300 event. D. J. Kennington found that three was the charm as he won the event after starting on the pole at Cayuga only to break on the first lap.

TSN will broadcast this event for those who missed it live, on Saturday, July 14 at 1:00 p.m. Eastern time.

Event #4 for the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series Teams will take place at Sun Valley Speedway in Vernon British Columbia on Saturday July 14 and Sunday July 15th as the teams enter their two race Western Swing. The following weekend they will be part of the Edmonton Grand Prix event.

In other news and notes, the #39 Dickies/Hamilton Tiger Cats/NMT Dodge Charger will be on display at the season home opener of the Hamilton Tiger Cats this Saturday July 7th.
