The 16 year-old Grimsby, Ontario driver will join champions with other top short track drivers across the United States and Europe for the seventh consecutive year in Charlotte for the NASCAR Night of Champions Touring Awards on Saturday, Dec. 10th.

In addition to the NASCAR Pinty’s Series champion, the NASCAR Hall of Fame at the Charlotte Convention Center will welcome champions from the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East and West, NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour and NASCAR Whelen Euro Series.

The NASCAR Night of Champions Touring Awards will also be broadcast live in English, Spanish and French on Fanschoice.tv.

Lapcevich, who originally planned to just run part-time during the 2016 season, was able to make every race on the schedule and wound up not only winning the NASCAR Pinty’s Series title but he also scored the Josten’s Rookie of the Year title and the car owner’s title for his mom, Sherri, who serves as the car owner for the No. 76 Fastline Motorsports Dodge.

Lapcevich was 16 years, 10 months and 16 days old when he won the championship to break the all-time NASCAR record as the youngest champion in any NASCAR national or touring series, which was set by 2015 Daytona 500 winner Joey Logano (Logano was 17 years, 3 months, 28 days when he won the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East title in 2007).
