VR46 unveils 2025 MotoGP colours in Jakarta

Five of the 11 MotoGP teams have now held their individual launch events

VR46 showcased the livery of its 2025 MotoGP bikes at a special launch in Jakarta on Saturday.

The team owned by MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi will switch to a fluorescent yellow-and-white colour scheme, an evolution of the design it first adopted last year.

Both Fabio di Giannantonio and new signing Franco Morbidelli flew down to Indonesia for the presentation ceremony, as VR46 capitalised on the rising popularity of MotoGP in South East Asia.

Di Giannantonio and Morbidelli will ride road-going Ducati bikes at the Mandalika Circuit next week to get acclimated to the hot weather in the region before taking part in the official pre-season test in Malaysia on 5-7 November.

Rossi himself was absent from the launch but revealed details of the new livery in a pre-recorded video message.

The upcoming MotoGP sees VR46 become the primary satellite team for Ducati, with Pramac having ended a 20-year relationship to join forces with Yamaha.

As part of VR46's increased ties with the Borgo Panigale marque, the team will receive the latest Ducati GP25 which will be ridden by di Giannantonio this year.

The 26-year-old's speed and consistency last season impressed the top brass at Ducati, which signed him directly to its rider roster and awarded him a factory-spec bike.

Di Giannantonio, in fact, will be the only rider other than Marc Marquez and Francesco Bagnaia to race the latest equipment from Ducati this year.

His team-mate Morbidelli, however, will continue on the same GP24 machine that he rode in a comparatively underwhelming campaign at Pramac in 2024.

But the move to VR46 reunites Morbidelli with his mentor and friend Rossi, who chose the 30-year-old for the vacant seat in his team following Marco Bezzecchi's switch to Aprilia.

Bezzecchi and di Giannantonio together propelled VR46 to fifth in the teams' championship last year, ahead of factory teams from KTM, Yamaha and Honda.

In the riders' standings, di Giannantonio grabbed the 10th spot despite missing the last two rounds of the year to undergo surgery on the shoulder he injured in practice at the Red Bull Ring.

Morbidelli finished just ahead of di Giannantonio in ninth place, achieving his best championship finish since 2020. However, he was also classified as the lowest among the four riders on the dominant GP24.
