DE PUNIET READY FOR A FUN WEEKEND IN CALIFORNIA

LCR Honda MotoGP rider Randy De Puniet is looking forward to a fun weekend at Laguna Seca for the U.S. Grand Prix, one of the most spectacular races on the MotoGP calendar. And the French rider feels the unique, roller-coaster style layout of the 3.610km circuit will provide an opportunity to show his potential thanks to improvements obtained in the last races.

The Frenchman aboard the Michelin-shod Honda RC212V managed a sixth place last year on the Californian track which saw Stoner on the top of the podium followed by Vermeulen and Melandri. Laguna Seca GP is the last date on the calendar before the summer break.

De Puniet: "Things have been going better for me mid-season and my qualifying performances are becoming more consistent. I was unlucky at Assen because of the incident with Rossi and in Germany the conditions caught everyone out to some extent. I finished sixth here last year and I like the challenges this track throws at you. And let's not forget there was an all-Honda podium here in 2006, so we have the potential to do well here I think before the summer break."
