Before the premier class will go into a well deserved, but short summer break, the 800cc pilots go for another race to the USA. The next stop will be at the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca near Monterey at the Californian coast next weekend.

The American racetrack is not new for Alex de Angelis, as he rode there the last two years when he was with the Gresini team in the MotoGP class. It is the second race for the Interwetten Honda MotoGP Team with the 26 years old San Marines, who is replacing the injured Hiroshi Aoyama until his return to the team. De Angelis is looking forward to the special event in which the two smaller classes have to stay at home as only the MotoGP class has the pleasure to ride there.

De Angelis hopes that he has an advantage against the other rookies in the premier class, as he is more a rookie than a veteran this year in MotoGP, as the 2010 version of the Honda RC212V he was riding for the first time last weekend on the Sachsenring circuit.

Alex de Angelis:

"For sure it will be easier for me in Laguna Seca, as it is the second race for me in MotoGP after Sachsenring. Also many of the new MotoGP riders have never been to Laguna, so it is new for them as well and they have to adapt and learn like me. So I think it is easier to be part of the group there. The first practice will be a first practice for all of us. My target is not to be last in the race. I know it will not be easy, but I will try whatever it needs to make it happen."

Daniel M. Epp, Team Manager:

"We could not finish with the base set up for the bike at the Sachsenring circuit, as planned. I hope Alex will be satisfied with the settings before the race at Laguna. The American track will be used to adapt the bike to Alex's needs, so he can fight at Brno in three weeks time."

The race at Laguna Seca/USA will take place from 23rd of July to 25th of July on the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca and will show only the MotoGP class.
