Aoyama starts race from 12th spot

Also the qualifying of the Spanish Grand Prix in Jerez de la Frontera was exciting for Hiroshi Aoyama's team and fans as the MotoGP rookie set his fastest lap time in the last couple of minutes and settled in his starting position for tomorrow's race at 12th position. Aoyama, who was 14th in the free practice two this morning, moved two places ahead because of his good performance in the afternoon. The Interwetten Honda MotoGP Team now hopes he can improve even more in the race and gains the next important championship-points.

Hiroshi Aoyama, 1'40.322 -- 12:
My lap times in the qualifying were not bad today, but the starting position for the race could have been better and therefore I am not 100% satisfied. I am not happy that we are not further in front. In general we worked a lot on the set up and it worked out. Tomorrow we want to improve the set up in the warm up and then I hope we will have a good race.

Daniel Epp, Team Manager:
This was a good qualifying. Hiro gets better step-by-step and we come closer to the top of the world. I hope we move further forward and can keep this direction and I also hope we will finish the race even better than last time. The team is working very hard and specific and I hope we will finish the race tomorrow with another Top 10 result.
